Interim Committee Schedule

🎆 The 4th of July reminds us how important it is to stay engaged in our democracy. Right now, interim committees at the NM Legislature are discussing key issues that affect Doña Ana County and all of New Mexico.

Next week (July 7–10), these committees are meeting:

✅ Economic & Rural Development & Policy Committee (July 7–8, Mescalero/Corona, Zoom) – discussing rural development and economic opportunities.

✅ Tobacco Settlement Revenue Oversight Committee (July 7, Albuquerque, Zoom) – reviewing how NM uses funds from the tobacco settlement.

✅ New Mexico Finance Authority Oversight Committee (July 9–10, Las Vegas, NM, Zoom) – overseeing financing for infrastructure and community projects.

✅ Water & Natural Resources Committee (recently met July 1–2) – discussing water conservation, acequias, and natural resource issues.

✅ Legislative Finance Committee – no meeting next week, but always working on budget planning and education funding.

These conversations shape the policies and funding that impact our communities, schools, healthcare, and natural resources. Let’s stay informed and keep our voices strong!
